January Aurifil Designer of the Month, Roseann Kermes

Hi I’m Pat Sloan, the Aurifil Designer of the Month coordinator. For 2012 we have a whole new set of exciting designers bringing you blocks of adorable stitchery each month!

I’d like to introduce you to our January Aurifil Designer, a super clever and crafty gal who loves to makes things… plus she owns an adorable shop…. Roseann Kermes! I’m lucky to have known Roseann for many years and have even had  a chance to see her ‘famous’ hideout… it’s to die for!  Plus Roseann is a frequent guest on my radio show bringing you all the latest gossip.. I mean ‘news’ from the industry!

Surviving the Runway 60′s style…..The Winner

During 2009 International Quilt Festival/ Long Beach  ….Quiltingarts Magazine organized the  Surviving the Runway, a challenge . This time They went back to the ’60′s and created flower power couture. There was  excellent prizes for the top designers (a suitcase of Aurifil thread, Jacquard paints, magazines, etc.). People were equipped with a sheet of fun foam, pipe cleaners, plastic flowers, stencils, and other tacky bits to create their couture, and of course they played music from the ’60s through out.
