Stitch the 2012 DOM Reboot: December

Congratulations, you made it through another fabulous year of stitching!! We are so thrilled to present our final month of the Stitch the 2012 DOM Reboot. All year, we’ve presenting a brand new version of one of our 2012 blocks on the last Thursday of every month. Today, just 3 days before the final day of 2017, we get to share our December block. It’s particularly fitting as there are many of us under a new blanket of Christmas snow!

We’ve loved having this opportunity to work on our hand-stitching with all of you — thank you for stitching along with us!

Aurifil offers 270 stunning colors of both our 100% Cotton 12wt thread and Aurifloss, our 100% Cotton 6-strand floss. This stitch-along is a wonderful excuse to give some of those colors a try. 😉

Original 2012 Designer of the Month Quilt Setting

These blocks were originally made with Aurifil 12wt. Would you believe that our floss hadn’t yet been introduced in 2012? We love that this reboot gives us the opportunity to try the blocks out with either a new thread, a new color way, or both AND to reconnect with some of our beloved Designers of the Month! So without further pause, let’s check out December’s block!

Beth & Liz of Lizzie B Cre8ive created their Let It Snow block in December of 2012. They selected the image for this block because…

Beth: Our little skier girl is from a series of appliqué quilts that we designed. One
small quilt for each season…with the same little girl in each quilt. We loved our
little winter girl, hitting the slopes with her braids flying behind her! We thought it
would be cute to replicate the design in embroidery…perfect for our December
block.

Liz: Our little skier girl is obviously Beth! (maybe not the long braided hair, but
still…)
